If you are reading this then you are one of thousands of fans worldwide who participate in and contribute to the success of this event. We have examined and analysed all the feedback we have received from you going back to 2010 and, once again, tweaked and fine tuned the event to provide maximum value, entertainment and adrenaline-filled excitement to all involved.
Without letting too many secrets out of the bag, here are seven good reasons why you need to plan your WTAC trip now!
1. Crème de la crème of international time attack competition
We have already had unprecedented interest from around the world and expect one of the strongest field to date. There will also be a bunch of brand new builds debuting at this year’s event as well the returning crowd favourites. And let’s not forget, with Tilton’s retirement we will be crowning a new WTAC Champion this year!
And that’s just in Pro class. We are also talking with a number of international teams interesting in coming to compete in lower classes with one team making the long trek from Japan to compete in Clubsprint Class!
2. Return of the International Drift Challenge
That’s right we are bringing back the drift in a BIG way! The old format that saw the likes of Team Orange and the top tier of D1NZ teams compete against the locals is back.
Friday and Saturday nights will see turns 10, 11 and 12 lit up as the best drifters in the country go to battle against hand-picked international guests.
3. More Racing Celebrities
We know how much you love meeting your childhood heroes in person. This year we will be bringing over some very high profile individuals for that once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet and shake hands with living legends.
Because of this we will have extended meet and greet, photograph and autograph sessions to ensure you don’t miss out.
4. More racing, more action, less distractions
To ensure plenty of track time for all classes and non-stop racing action for the spectators we have shortened the Midday Mayhem. The new format will still include all your favourites like the Motorsport Legends, Drift Demos, Pit Walk and Turbosmart Flying 500 but in a faster, more compact package.
We have only invited the best of the best, fastest, rarest and coolest machinery available to ensure non-stop entertainment!
5. More Automotive Eye Candy
The Just Car Insurance Show’n’Shine has been growing in size and is now the biggest outdoor auto show in the country. This year we will be allocating more space to the show and we’re expecting over 500 cars on display!
From Euros to exotics, JDM to ratrods and muscle cars, there’ll be no shortage of gleaming machines for you to feast your eyes on!
6. Show Specials
This year should see the biggest display of the best quality tuning produce with “show specials” galore. We are actively encouraging traders to offer special pricing during WTAC so if you’re in the market for some performance gear, bring your money with you!
Don’t forget that all of the best technical staff will be on hand to discuss your next build and offer tips and advise.
7. More Bang For Your Buck
We have saved the most important one until last. While everyone else is jacking up their prices we will be offering you even better value for money this year.
While other events are restricting access for general entry spectators, your WTAC general entry pass will still get your everywhere (well, almost, you won’t be able to get into VIP rooms or the restricted competitors’ area).
If you get a 2-Day WTAC Superpass you get 2 full days and 2 full nights of time attack and drifting action with access to all the attractions including the grand stand and pit building roof. Your ticket also includes on-site parking! On top of that, this year we will also be offering special “afternoon only” passes for those who only want to see drift. And as always, kids under 12 get in for free!
So mark your calendar, book your holiday and tell your friends. Afterall, there is no better way to enjoy WTAC than with your mates.
