D1 Japan Ladies League champion Miki Takagi joins our all-star international contingent at the 2019 Garrett Advancing Motion International Drifting Cup. Miki will be flying the flag high for Team Japan and Team Pink Style.
Miki also is competing in D1 Lights this year and has carved through the ranks in Japan, becoming a force to be reckoned with in Japanese professional drifting. Just like her Team Pink Style partner, reigning IDCup champion Naoki Nakamura, Miki has a no-holds-barred style and we can expect to see some aggressive driving and full use of the SMSP South Circuit.
Valino Tyres Australia in partnership with DoriJunkie have prepared a pro-level car for her to compete in down under. The Nissan S13 Silvia is powered by a ‘1.5JZ’, a combination that combines the best of Toyota’s formidable 1JZ and 2JZ engine platforms.
Wrapped in her signature Team Pink Style pink and purple colourway by Motographics, the S-chassis looks like it has arrived straight out of a Japanese street drift DVD.
The six-cylinder breathes deeper thanks to a GCG Garrett GTX3584RS spinner, and should see a strong and dependable 700HP at the wheels.
Engine management is supplied by Haltech, and their Elite 2500 ECU will be tuned in-house at their Wetherill Park headquarters.
“Having Miki come to join Team Pink style at their 2019 International is a huge thing for not just the competition but for the sport of drifting in general,” says IDCup Drift Operations Manager, Dan Mackie.
“We hope to see more and more females are heading to the front of the pack in drift. It’s so great to see Miki compete on our soil and we anticipate more female drifters will join us in years to come!”
