Professional drifter and international competitor, Josh Boettcher will be joining the field at the Tectaloy International Drift Challenge this year as he returns from competing in the Formula Drift Asia series.
Josh is no stranger to podiums, recently taking out 2011 Formula Drift Asia Rookie of the year, 2010 Stadium Drift Australia Pro Tour Champion, 2009 & 2011 Stadium Drift Australia Pro Tour Runner-Up and 2011 ADGP Rnd 2 runner up.
Josh has been competing internationally overseas at the 2012 Formula Drift Asia series in his GT Radial/Tyreright S15 that he will be campaigning at WTAC. Sporting a SR 2.2L HKS Stroker Kit and fully built motor, Race E85 Fuel System, HKS 30/37 Turbo, NP Wonder Knuckles and even more modifications, the S15 is going to present a tough competition.
Josh said “I have been competiting overseas for the past couple of years so I’ve gotten a taste for what talent is out there beyond our borders. I have competed against Daigo Saito a number of times and I know that after competing against him, his fellow D1 competitors, the Team Orange boys will be very tough to beat, especially in their own cars. But there is a huge amount of talent in this one event, so who ever stands on the podium is going to well and truly deserve it! It’s going to be a crazy couple of nights!”
“2012 has offered all new challenges, with my race prepared S15 now overseas for the year for Formula Drift and for local competition, we have prepared a Sil80 that is currently being raced and developed at the same time! We did take 2nd place at round 2 of Stadium Drift, even with the Sil only having a basic setup, no where near that of the S15. Round 1 of Formula Drift Asia was a fantastic event, but I have to work on my qualifying! I managed to come up against Daigo Saito in the top 16 which was awesome and has prepared me for what lies ahead!”
“Huge thanks goes out to Tyreright, the national distributors of GT Radial, and the place to buy the awesome GT Radial HPY I’m running on. An great tyre for all on road performance applications, Motul Oils, TPR Media for their continued support and Dellows conversions, I run their SR to RB25 gearbox conversion plate, a simple and cost effective way to strengthen your driveline.”
